High jump or Limbo?

Today I thought of two contest in which a bar is used ( standard). The object of a limbo contest is to constantly go lower than the bar ( standard); even as the bar is being lowered. In a high jump contest the idea is to constantly clear the bar even though it gets higher. What if life is like this? Some people constantly try to go below the bar no matter how low some standards are getting. It's crazy seeing people squirm, lean, tilt and fall just to go below the bar. When they could  have easily jumped over it; maybe even stepped. It's also crazy to see the drive some people have that will go through great lengths to clear the bar even though it is set at high altitudes. What are you doing playing limbo or high jumping?
