Happy Birthday April!

As this day comes to its imminent end I am reminded of ideals that are dear to most individuals. My sibling hood has been a blessed one filled with affectionate family members who work in unison. I am aware that as my tenure as a brother seems to be reaching its peak involvement that some see theirs facing an end. Death is looming around all of us and the uncertainty of its loose grip reminds me to enjoy life’s true blessings. For rarely do we see the shine of true treasure until it has already become a dull ornament with no luster. So in conclusion I say Happy Birthday April Burns!

MIscellaneous

The strongest four letter word in our vocabulary has often been used in every capacity except for what it is deemed.  It is often misused to bewilder those who don’t truly understand its true meaning.  In order to gain an edge on those who yearn to feel its true essence. For with love there is no one way to encompass its meaning in other words. For this noun is in every since a verb. The only way to truly understand these four letters is to bear witness to its actions. For we bear witness to its unselfishness in the ultimate sacrifice when Jesus Christ died for humanity in order to give them a right to the kingdom of heaven. Or other examples such as the U.S. soldiers whose death totals surpass acceptable numbers of which there are none. May their love for the country which deploys them never be forgotten or used in selfish ways to collect currency on an already depreciating dollar. We hear it crying through countless musical classics of all genres. These melodies are sweeter to the ear than honey is to the tongue. This feeling more fulfilling to the soul than grandmothers Sunday dinner is to your pallet. Yes, this emotion is the direct representation of your hearts very mission.

“Love”

It is a great day to think

Life is not solely about me, in fact on the grand scheme of things my existence might or might not matter that much at all outside those friends and love ones who choose to honor my life with integrity. But instead life is about the advancement of all Gods people for if all people advance I am counted in that number and if one of us (human) falls I am also to blame. So with these truths I advise that your greatest gift be your mind, for with it you can influence many, whether to adhere good or evil is your decision. Just remember you live in the world you help create. So ones life should not be caught up in trying to achieve great fame or wealth because when you die your wealth will be divided up among men and none will follow you to your second life. I admonish you that you can only leave impressions on the minds you come in contact with. Let those impressions be of love, peace , and understanding and an inner goal to improve the state of mankind and not those that will only cripple and demolish what morals and truths we hold to be self evident that we are one nation under God , indivisible with liberty and justice for all.

Furthermore I ask that you try your solemn best to treat each other better than you would treat yourself. Since we are made in the image of God every time you mistreat one of your fellow humans you only spit in the face of your creator since he made us in his image. Life is a burdensome task but only you choose to which level of scrutiny those burdens will affect you. Let us not get caught up in such futile arguments over race, sex, and creed but realize that none of us knows the face of our creator so we must all live in humbleness until such knowledge is bestowed to us at the great Day of Judgment. For if we are to live this life why not live it in unity instead of segregation.

Goodmorning

A blog to me is an organized compilation of words written in a manner to have you value the opinion of what a writer is saying. I wonder today what the conversation around my living area is. From there I wonder what the conversation is around the nation and furthermore the world. It seems to me that people are doing what they have always been. People are searching; searching for a stable job, searching for spiritual truth and searching for their place in the world. Will your conversations today bring you any closer to this? Will the work you do transcend everyday monotony or will it just perpetuate the invisible machine of an economy? Where will you find meaning? I think that the search for truer meaning or purpose progresses us all.

Best Regards,

Free...Will

Imagination is great for movies. Creativity is awesome for art. Sometimes they don’t do so well in how we depict others. Sometimes; just sometimes we have to see others for who they are. It does not mean that you stop hoping and praying for change. It doesn’t mean that you cast a shadow of thought on what others may become. But it does mean that you can’t will someone to be different. By forcing your every thought, action, and reaction in a way that you hope changes someone you will only succeed in changing your mood from hopeful to frustration. For will is great when it comes to the individual pursuit of change. But when it comes to changing others it is almost powerless. For one’s own will must be activated in order for them to illicit change in them self. This is both a liberating and restricting revelation. For the individual who decides to change it is liberating. For the individual that hopes for change it forces you to be a motivating but restrictive bystander. Thus is the power and beauty of free will. Be the change in the world that you want to see because you might only be able to see the change in the world if it comes from thee.

Good day, God bless

How could you have chosen that

? How can you have chosen him over me I could have been the sun that brightens your sky I could have been the air you breathe I would have been much healthier to you I would have been the water and he’s you thirst He is the poison that makes your heart hurt And every moment you spend with him You pump his venom through your system You don’t even yearn for healing You just want the pain to stop That’s like never putting out the fire Just hoping not to feel the burning That’s like longing not to be wet standing in the rain Or wishing someone would love you But picking someone over me again and again I could have cherished everything about you Leaving imprints of my love on your heart Like footprints in the sand What more would it take How much more could you withstand How can you ignore the sweet aroma of romance How can you not let our love stand the test of time The duration of time I would love you All the way to heaven’s doors From there you’re the Lord’s This is a poem from my book “Heart … Who Goes There?” This book is a book with a collection of poems about the different thoughts and stages of love. I believe poetic speech can allow one to express themself artistically though words. This poem is titled “?”. The “?” of course refers to questions. It is very easy to view this poem from only a humanistic view and thus relate to it on a basic level. But life is often more complex than we think so let’s take a closer look at it. Think about it. Who hasn’t been in the position that the author implies in this poem. When you see someone you love infatuated with someone who doesn’t care about them it bothers you. But I dare you to look at this poem as if Christ wrote it to you. Now how does it make you feel? What emotions are going through your mind? Are you starting to grasp the idea that I am trying to present to you? God commands us to love him with all our mind, heart, and soul…”-Luke 10:27. God is your first love. Loving him is only right because he first loved you. He loved you so much that he gave his only son to die for your sins so that you may have a right to eternal salvation.-John 3:16. But how often do we consider ourselves not loved because we don’t have that significant other in our lives by the time we planned on it. We all have the need for human companionship but let us first fall back in love with him who has always loved us. How much more would love mean to us if we learned to love each other as God loved us. How much more about love would you understand if you understood how God loves us? Seek to learn what love is before looking for it. You might just have the best love and not take it for granite. Thought of the day, what is the problem?

I am tempted to say that it is a African American problem. Thus, placing the spotlight on my race and diminishing the injustices of others in promotion of mine. Furthermore, I have the good intentions of saying it is a financial problem. But that would put would put emphasis on the wealth of individual humans instead of human wealth in a whole. This indeed could directly backfire and make everyone feel attacked and might just do more to cause dissension than cooperation. So I ultimately will decide that the major problem is relational. We simply do not love each other as we claim we do. For if we did the hungry would not go hungry. The homeless would not be homeless. And we would not sacrifice the security of our brethren in order to secure our own fate. Now the issues that plague mankind may not be eradicated but it is a given fact that some of our most basic problems are not diminishing but rather growing in nature and complexity. For this one fact makes me think of you today. God Bless.
